Therapeutic Massage is the most general type of service we offer, but of course it allows for specificity provided by you.  We can make this a full-body massage to promote an all-over sense of well-being, or we can combine  that sensation  with focused attention to high-tension areas to provide much needed relief. 

Scientifically, this type of massage involves the manipulation of the body’s soft tissue to prevent or alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasms and stress.  This then promotes health and wellness.  Various strokes and degrees of pressure are used in concert to restore and maintain optimal health.  Benefits include:  Decreased anxiety; enhanced sleep quality; improved circulation, and pain reduction.   

 We offer both Prenatal Massage and Postnatal Massage therapies.  Prenatal Massage is recommended after the first trimester.  In addition to general stress relief, it focuses on giving the mother-to-be the specific attention she needs to reduce swelling, improve discomfort from sciatic nerve pain, and relieve her back, neck and shoulder tensions.  There are many benefits to Prenatal Massage, including improved sleep, and relief from headaches, muscle tension and fatigue.  After giving birth, Postnatal Massage helps to restore the body to its pre-pregnancy condition more quickly.  Not only does Postnatal Massage relieve the physical stresses of recent childbirth and promote healing and recuperation to the body, it also provides emotional support by comforting and providing a nurturing experience to the new mom.
